Note: Move-In Day for all new students for the Spring 2020 Semester will be Monday, January 20. More details will be published here as they become available.

Below is what typically happens during our Fall Orientation, usually held the weekend before the start Fall Semester classes.

Day 1: Move-In Day for New Students and Centralized Check-In

注册就送38可微信提现Move-In Day focuses on helping all new students, including transfer students, move into the residence halls, get parking decals and student IDs, meet and make connections with new classmates and begin their UMF experience.

The day includes:

  • Centralized Check-In
  • Move-in time: We’ll have plenty of UMF helpers to lend a hand and assist you with your belongings
  • Lunch: We welcome all new students and their family members and guests to join us for a meal
  • An informative program for parents/families and students
  • A Commuter / Transfer Student Session
  • A Welcome Address from UMF President Edward Serna
  • An official Matriculation Ceremony and Reception
  • A fond farewell to families and guests as you begin your UMF journey


  • Dinner for students by our terrific campus dining services
  • Fun entertainment and activities

Day 2: Taking Care of Business

注册就送38可微信提现This day is spent taking the time to get more familiar with your new home, engage in helpful discussions and explore UMF values. Federal law mandates that new students participate in Title IX training, so there’s that, too!

The day includes:

  • Sessions on personal strategies for success in college
  • Sessions on things such as Title IX training, student employment, bystander intervention, etc.
  • Student employment opportunities
  • Information on student clubs, organizations, and club sports
  • Shuttle vans around your new community


  • Meals by our terrific campus dining services
  • A BBQ on the Mantor Green (for the Fall Orientation)
  • Fun entertainment and activities

Day 3: Trips, Adventures, Activities and Experiential Opportunities. Also Move-In Day for Returning Students

For new students, you’re going to really like this day. We’re planning off-campus trips, adventures, fun activities on and off campus excursions. You’ll sleep well after this.

The day includes options like:

  • A white-water rafting trip
  • Canoeing and kayaking nearby lakes and rivers (we’ve got the canoes and kayaks)
  • Volunteer opportunities and community service projects
  • Ceramics, crafts and outdoor lawn games
  • A trip to nearby Mt. Blue State Park
  • Pokemon Go
  • Dollar Movie Night
  • A personalized walk-about to help you explore downtown Farmington
  • An awesome evening bonfire and entertainment
